What Testers Do is a practice site for QA testing. This page explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it. We keep it short and plain.
What we need to run your account
- Email address: To sign you in and send account emails, like the verification link.
- Display name: Shown on your reports. It does not have to be your real name.
- Your reports, scores and feedback: So you can see your progress and revise.
Optional questions
You can skip any of these, and change or clear them in Account settings.
- Country
- Helps us decide which languages to add next.
- Current role
- Helps us decide which practice tracks to build next.
- QA experience
- Helps us check that missions are the right difficulty.
- Main goal
- Helps us decide what to build next.
- How you heard about this site
- Helps us see which places are worth sharing it in.
We ask for your country. We never detect it from your connection.
What we don't collect
Your full legal name, phone number, date of birth, gender or employer.
How your reports are graded
The text of each bug report you submit is sent to our AI provider, Anthropic, to be scored and to write feedback. Only the report text is sent, not your email or name.
Who else handles your data
- Vercel: Hosts the site.
- Neon: Stores the database.
- Anthropic: Grades report text, as above.
- Google: Only if you choose "Continue with Google".
How long we keep it
- Practice hotel data (bookings you make while testing): Deleted after 7 days without use.
- Your account, reports and scores: Kept until you delete your account.
Your choices
- Change or clear your optional answers in Account settings.
- Delete your account and everything linked to it, also in Account settings.
- Ask us what we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by email.
